Friday Institute For Educational Innovation

This is a free, online experience for students in middle and high school and those transitioning to college.
The course equips students with knowledge about their own learning, provides strategies students can use in and outside of school, and empowers students to partner with their allies and advocate for themselves. The course addresses attention, time management, and organization, expressing ideas, and memory, and students create an Advocacy Plan that they can share with the adults/allies in their lives.

“Jefferson Family, the 8th grade band performed for Music Performance Adjudication at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Our students out performed ANY 8th grade band I have ever taught. They earned the highest rating, SUPERIOR, from every judge with extra compliments from one judge who said they performed a new piece better than any band they had heard that day. We should be encouraged by their amazing work ethic. They have worked harder than any students I have seen to be highly successful.
KUDOS to these wonderful students.”

Adam Joiner, Band Director
