GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Thursday,
March 29th is a REGULAR school day. It replaces January 18th,
which was an A-Day. It is the final day of the 3rd quarter.
Friday March
30th is the first day of Spring Break,
which runs
through Friday, April 6th.

Volunteers are needed for the Jefferson
Elementary School FunFest.
The FunFest is
Friday, April 27th from 5-8 pm. Volunteers are needed to help with
set-up, take down, selling drinks, running games and booths. Stop by the
Counseling Center to get more information about signing up.

Attention parents of 7th graders who are
taking Accelerated Math this year:
There will be an
informational meeting on Tuesday, April 10, from 6:00-6:30 in the TJMS Media
Center. The purpose of the meeting is to share information about Math 1 and to
help parents determine if Math 1 is the best course for their rising 8th
grader. Current 8th grade math teachers as well as high school math
teachers will be at the meeting to answer questions and share their perspective
on students who are successful in Math 1.

“Jefferson Family, the 8th grade band
performed for Music Performance Adjudication at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Our students out performed ANY 8th
grade band I have ever taught. They earned the highest rating, SUPERIOR, from
every judge with extra compliments from one judge who said they performed a new
piece better than any band they had heard that day. We should be encouraged by
their amazing work ethic. They have worked harder than any students I have seen
to be highly successful.

wonderful students.”

We need a lot of
help in order to make this event a success. Mark your calendars for April 27th!
There are many
ways you can help, whether it is a monetary donation, your time, or by donating
some of the essential items needed that are listed in the sign-up section. We
need all hands on deck! So please take a look at our needs and consider signing
up today. We truly appreciate any and all help!

Middle School PTA is currently accepting nominations for its 2018-2019 Board
Officer and Committee Chairs. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone
else please email or complete the application. The application can be printed from the PTA page on the TJMS website.
Note: You must be
a member in good standing of the PTA to be an eligible candidate.
Please return
applications to the PTA Nominating Committee via email
(andreabrueske@hotmail.com) or to the school office in a sealed envelope marked
PTA Nominating Committee. Phone interviews will be scheduled for all interested
officer applicants (Treasurer).
Elections will
take place at the General PTA Meeting on May 3, 2018. We will also accept
nominations from the floor during the General Membership Election Meeting.
